What Is The Links Editor?
The Links editor enables you to post banners of other sites
onto your links page. The main use for this is to exchange banners
- they advertise you and you advertise them. Search engines like
to see STRONG incoming links to your site, so try to link exchange
with high ranking and relevant sites. The banners on the Links
page are seen as a search engine tool, and are not to be confused
with paid banners, that are controlled via the banner
manager.
How It Works
Incoming banners are sent via e-mail to your e-mail account. You
need top save the banner images to your computer's hard drive,
then upload them via the CMS into your web site.
What I Can Do In The Content Manager
Content Manager > Page Editor Menu >
Links Page Editor
Add Image Banners
> Click on 'Click to add banner links'.
Empty banner slots will appear into which you can upload the new
banners. For banners throughout the site (home page and side banners),
they must be the correct size as indicated on the UPLOAD A BANNER
image, but on the links page any size can be displayed. Excessively
wide images may break the overall look of the site, so try not
to exceed 468 pixel widths.
If this is a new banner click UPLOAD. A pop-up will appear to
allow you to BROWSE your computer's hard drive to find the correct
banner image. Once you have found the banner image, click UPLOAD.
This brings the banner from your hard drive into the content manager.
If this a banner that you have uploaded before, click on BROWSE.
A pop-up will appear to allow you to SELECT your desired banner
image. At this time, please DELETE old banners so that you do
not exceed your web site's allocated server space. Good file management
avoids clutter and is a good habit to get into.
> Check the ACTIVE box to make the banner live.
