Banner Management

manage the escort and agency banners

What Is The Banner Manager?
The Banner Manager controls all paid ads throughout the site.

How It Works
Information can be submitted to the site via the 'banner' selection on the Advertise With Us page. It is then held in the content manager's 'holding pen' before publication - here you can delete, edit or approve the ad. You can also create banner ads without using the submission form.

There are two types of banner - a home page banner (468 pixels wide by 60 pixels high) and a side banner (150 pixels wide by 60 pixels high). Banners are randomly displayed in the available display slots, meaning that even though there is one one home page banner slot, you can upload as many banners as you like into that slot and they will be displayed randomly.

What I Can Do In The Content Manager
Content Manager > Banner Rotation Menu

You can search for banner ads, edit ads, delete ads and view banner statistics. You can also add new banners, bypassing the usual web site submission process.

Search For Banner Ads
Type in any information in the search fields at the top of the page, hit SELECT and all relevant banner ads will be displayed on a search results page. You can also search for banners by client name, clicking on the first letter of their name in the alphabetic list.

Manage Banner Ads

This page is the holding pen for all the banners to be displayed on the home page or on the side of page positions. When an advertiser submits banner information from the banner submission form on the web site it will be displayed on this page. It will not show up on the web site until you have activated the banner. You can edit the submitted contact information, linking URL or you can delete the banner.

Click on a banner image to perform any administration functions.
Content Manager > Banner Rotation > Edit Banner

Here you can edit information, replace the banner image and view statistics. VIEWS means the number of times a banner was displayed on the web site. CLICKS is the number of times the banner has been clicked on. These are important numbers that advertisers will want to know.

> Link: The web address to which you want the Text Field to link to. You must type in http://www.webaddress.com. This field is mandatory. This will be pre filled with information sent in via the advertiser, but make sure the link is valid and correct.

> Check the ACTIVE box to make the banner live.

> Comments: useful for start dates of advertisement, notes about length of period of ad, expiration date.

To delete a banner, check the DELETE THIS BANNER box, then hit the DELETE button at the base of the page

To Manually Add a New Banner
> Click on 'ADD A NEW HOMEPAGE BANNER' or 'ADD A NEW SIDE BANNER'.
Empty banner slots will appear into which you can upload the new banners. Banners MUST be the correct size as indicated on the UPLOAD A BANNER image as images are forced to the correct size which may cause image distortion.

If this is a new banner click UPLOAD. A pop-up will appear to allow you to BROWSE your computer's hard drive to find the correct banner image. Once you have found the banner image, click UPLOAD. This brings the banner from your hard drive into the content manager.

If this a banner that you have uploaded before, click on BROWSE. A pop-up will appear to allow you to SELECT your desired banner image. At this time, please DELETE old banners so that you do not exceed your web site's allocated server space. Good file management avoids clutter and is a good habit to get into.

> Enter the Client contact information

> Link: The web address to which you want the banner to link to. You must type in http://www.webaddress.com.

Check the ACTIVE box to publish the banner to the web site. Leave this unchecked if you do not want the banner to publish just yet.

> Comments: useful for start dates of advertisement, notes about length of period of ad, expiration date.

To delete a banner, check the DELETE THIS BANNER box, then hit the DELETE button at the base of the page
